IT Minister announces launching Starlink services

In a meeting with PM AnwarulHaq Kakar, Caretaker Minister for IT and Telecommunication Dr Umar Saif announced the launch of Starlink services across the country for faster connectivity.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Dr Umar Saif presented a comprehensive plan for the development of the IT industry.
PM Kakar, appreciating IT Minister’s efforts, approved the plan and directed the Finance, State Bank, FBR, Commerce and Energy departments to consult with the IT minister and start execution of the plan.
During briefing, Dr Umar said that the exports can be taken to $10billion from $2.6billion once the hurdles are cleared. With the cooperation of the concerned departments, the IT department will play a major role in stabilizing the economy, said Dr Umar.
He said that the ministry is taking steps to train hundreds of thousands of youth according to global standards for improvement in the services sector. This step will increase the IT exports by $5billion.
The briefing stated that measures are being taken to bring the International payment facilities PayPal and Stripe to Pakistan and establishment of co-working spaces for facilitation of freelancers.
Talking about the 5G connectivity, caretaker IT minister said that it will be possible to get billions of dollars by determining the prices for the 5G spectrum auction according to the region in the next 10 months.
It was stated that Pakistan is seventh largest mobile phone market in the world and the local consumers will soon be provided with phones on easy installments.
