Rs5,000 notes are not being banned: Ministry

The Federal Ministry of Finance has denied any ban of Rs5,000 currency notes, saying a notification a notification circulating in this regard is fake, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Finance Ministry issued no such notification.

The fake notification states that Rs5,000 currency notes are being banned from September 30, 2023.
