Sugar price has slumped by another Rs3 per kilogram in the wholesale market taking it down to Rs164 from Rs167 on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Wholesale Groceries Association Chairman Abdul Rauf Ibrahim said that the fear of crackdown is continuously reducing the price of sugar.

He said that besides the wholesaler, the sugar mills have also compelled to reduce the price by Rs3 per kg.

He informed that the ex-mill sugar price has come down to Rs161 per kg.

He expects that due to the crackdown, sugar price will decrease further.
