Son's girlfriend cleared in PTI leader Dr Shahid Siddique's murder

In the Dr Shahid Siddique murder case, the accused son Qayyum's girlfriend has been cleared of involvement, while a barber has been identified as having received an advance payment of Rs1.6 million for the murder.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the Lahore police have recorded a detailed statement from the accused Qayyum's girlfriend and revealed that there was no evidence of her involvement in Dr Shahid Siddique's murder. 

In her statement, the girl clarified that she never demanded large sums of money from her boyfriend and that the two bags and the ring were given to her as gifts by the accused Qayyum of his own will.

The police investigation revealed that an advance payment of Rs1.6 million was received by a barber for the murder of Dr Shahid Siddique. 

The channel reported that with this revelation, the total number of accused people in the case, including Qayyum, has now reached five.

On August 2, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and owner of 
Iqra Hospital Lahore Dr Shahid Siddique was shot dead outside the mosque after offering Friday prayers in Valencia Town. The unidentified gunmen, who were riding a motorcycle, fired four bullets at him.

According to police sources, Dr Siddique, owner of a prominent private hospital and local leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was allegedly killed by his son, Qayyum, after his father refused to buy him a luxury car worth 130 million rupees.

The demand for the car was reportedly driven by Qayyum's desire to impress his girlfriend, who was fond of the luxury vehicle.

Dr Shahid Siddique, a well-known figure in the city, had refused to fulfil his son's extravagant request, leading to severe discontent between the two. Despite his refusal, Dr Siddiq had secretly booked the luxury car as a surprise gift for Qayyum’s birthday, known only to Dr Siddique’s wife.

The surprise gift was scheduled to arrive next week, adding a tragic twist to the unfolding events.

The sources added that Qayyum, who has a history of drug addiction, particularly ice had previously orchestrated a theft in his own home a few months ago.

His erratic behaviour and lifestyle had been a constant source of tension within the family.

The police investigation further revealed Dr Siddique had been providing Qayyum with pocket money of Rs 500,000, but Qayyum had recently demanded an increase to Rs 3 million per month.

Dr Siddique had persistently urged his son to abandon his bad habits and join his business, but to no avail.

The police investigation has uncovered these grim details, highlighting the deep-rooted issues within the family.
