More flights cancelled due to fog

A dense fog has enveloped the Punjab cities causing huge disruption to road and air travel, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesdays

Officials said at least six domestic and international flights were cancelled and four delayed at the Allama Iqbal International Airport as the runway visibility dropped.

Flight operation at Allama Iqbal International Airport affected due to fog and other technical reasons.

Cancelled flights: Six domestic and international flights to Lahore were canceled including Lahore to Sharjah PK-185, Flight GF764 from Bahrain to Lahore, Gulf Air flight GF765 from Lahore to Bahrain, Flight PK650 to Islamabad from Lahore, Flight PK306 from Karachi to Lahore and Flight PK307 to Karachi from Lahore airport.

Delayed flights: Flight TK714 from Istanbul to Lahore delayed for two and a half hours, Turkish Air flight TK715 to Istanbul from Lahore delayed by one hour and 45 minutes, the TV channel reported.

The TV channel reported weather in Faisalabad became cold and chill as fog engulfed the city. The temperature recorded from 7 degrees Celsius to 16 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Department.

In Haroonabad heavy fog reigned in and around the city and intensified the cold in the area disturbing the traffic flow in the city and on highways.

In charge Traffic Police Haroonabad said people should avoid unnecessary travel in fog and drivers should travel at extremely low speed to avoid any untoward incident.

The thick fog also caused impacted the trains schedule.
