The mystery surrounding the death of Karachi’s girl Sara Malik has been solved as the suspect arrested in the case has confessed to killing the girl after rape, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday. 

The 22-year-old girl Sara Malik went missing from Karachi’s Seaview beach on Friday and it was later transpired by police that she might have committed suicide while jumping into the sea.

According to police officials, Dr Shan Saleem, nominated in the Sara Malik case, has confessed to killing her after sexually assaulting her.  The police investigation further said that the girl informed her father on phone about being raped by Dr Shan.

According to the initial investigation, the police officials reported that the victim was identified as 22-year-old Sara Malik daughter of Abrar Ahmed and a resident of Azam Basti, Mahmood Abad. She works at an animal hospital. Sarah left home on Friday to perform her duties as a veterinary doctor in the private hospital. 

It is pertinent to mention here that the mysterious incident caught attention after her bag with identification documents was found near Do Darya’s spot.

The body of Sara Malik was recovered on Sunday morning from Karachi’s Seaview beach. 

In an FIR registered with Sahil police station, the father of the victim girl, Abrar Ahmed alleged that her daughter was raped by the owner of the veterinary hospital.

Police have shifted the body to Jinnah hospital for autopsy and recorded statements of family members and witnesses.
