Pakistani climbers Samina Baig and Amina Shigri’s K2 mission cancelled

Pakistani women’s K2 mission was cancelled after mountaineers Samina Baig and Amina Shigri got sick as a result of severe weather conditions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Deputy Commissioner Shigar told media that after their health issues, the administration decided to bring back climbers Samina Baig and Amina Shagri from the base camp and NOC was issued for the departure of their vehicles.
Deputy Commissioner further said arrangements have been finalized for the return of sick women climbers from the base camp and the rescue team will bring the women down from the base camp.
After reaching down from the base camp, the mountaineers will be sent to Shigar with the help of rescue teams.
The climbers left for K2 adventure on June 21. Samina Baig was leading the Pakistani women mountaineers. The team of women climbers included 4 Pakistani and 4 Italian women.
