There is a precedent that the National and provincial assemblies sessions discontinued for a time being at the prayer time but this is the first ever in the history of Pakistan that the National Assembly's (NA) Friday Session did not adjourn during the Jumma Prayer.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the National Assembly's Friday Session was chaired by Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah.
The channel reported that the parliamentary leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl group (JUI-F) Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri tried to recall the chair about the Jumma Prayer time but failed.
Maulana Haideri tried several times to get mice on a Point of Order to aware the Deputy Speaker about the prayer time but the chair did not oblige him.
When he was not heard by the deputy speaker, addressed the chair in loud that it has never happened in history that the NA session was conducted during Jummar Prayer.
He said when the Jumma Prayer was offered in the Parliament's mosque, he [the Deputy Speaker] continued to conduct the session without a prayer break.
Later, JUI-F Parliamentary Leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hydari walked out of the House without pointing out the corrum.
