Two recovered from policemen captivity in Karachi

Police in Karachi on Wednesday recovered two persons who had been kidnapped by none other than policemen for ransom, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sohail Hassan, a policeman, deputed at Sukhan police station, kidnapped Shehbaz, owner of a car showroom in Korangi. Police, however, recovered him from near Malir Nadi.
The Force also arrested the cop along with his two accomplices.
Shehbaz told the media that the suspects, after kidnapping him, also stole money from his ATM. “They had demanded Rs2 million in ransom, but finally settled for Rs0.3 million when the police arrived,” he explained.
US-born wife of the captive praised the police’s performance.
On the other hand, a magistrate raided Quaidabad police station’s torture cell, and recovered Hassan.
Hassan told police that so far he had paid Rs0.1 million to the police.
Taking notice of the incident, SSP Malir Hassan Sardar Niazi suspended three police personnel, including the SHO Quaidabad police station. Reporter: Imtiaz Ali
