The “Mission: Impossible” and “Top Gun” star Tom Cruise paid tribute to the newly coronated King Charles in a unique way during the all-star Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday evening, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Hollywood superstar broadcasted his pre-recorded message from the cockpit of his Top Gun Warbird plane, wearing the same pale blue top, aviator sunglasses, green headphones, and headset.

In Cruise's brief royal message, he highlighted the fact the King qualified as a pilot, saying: "Pilot to pilot, Your Majesty, you can be my wingman any time."

Cruise then saluted and steered the plane away from the camera at speed in the coronation concert clip.

In the same clip, Bond 007 famed hero Pierce Brosnan said Charles III was the longest-serving Prince of Wales and is a fully-trained RAF pilot, whilst famous UK adventure Bear Grylls adds he’s a naval aviator, trained commando helicopter pilot, and took on Royal Marines Commando Training.

Tom is an experienced aviator and was referring to the King's own experience in the Royal Navy and RAF, where he learned to fly both planes and helicopters.

Tom Cruise was among a handful of US stars who had taken part in the concert. Others on the list include the likes of Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Bette Midler, Andrea Bocelli, and the British group Take That.

Cruise has made the UK his adopted home in recent years having spent plenty of time there shooting the two “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” films which start unrolling from July.
