Former minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Salman Rafique has tested positive for dengue virus, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The former minister was shifted to hospital due to consistent fever. Later, he was diagnosed with dengue fever.
Dengue is on the rise in the country. Deadly virus has claimed one more life in Lahore. Whereas 87 new cases of dengue virus have been surfaced during last 24 hours. 392 patients affected by dengue are under treatment at government hospitals of the city. Dengue larva has been found at 1342 places of the city during last 24 hours.
On the other hand, 71 people tested positive for the virus in Karachi during last 24 hours. Death toll in the city has mounted to 48.
Meanwhile, dengue virus detected in 26 new patients in Islamabad. Death toll in the federal capital has been mounted to 11. The number of dengue patients in Islamabad has reached the figure of 5,072.
