Eight years old girl ‘raped’ by shopkeeper in Chiniot

An eight years old girl has been allegedly raped by a 40 years old shopkeeper in the Chiniot District in Punjab. 

According to a report, the girl went to the shop to get a pencil when the shopkeeper allegedly held her and assaulted her sexually. Accomplices of the accused filmed the incident and uploaded the video onto the internet. 

The video clearly shows the incident took place inside a shop. When parents of the girl reached the shop, the accused and his accomplices told them to keep quiet and threatened them with consequences. The victim girl’s father is a labourer. Police have registered a case and arrested the alleged rapist. However, police have yet to arrest accomplices of the alleged rapist. 

Chiniot District Police Officer Bilal Zafar Sheikh has said the accused would be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
