School teacher falls victim to acid attack for refusing marriage in Vehari

Another young woman fell victim to the heinous crime of acid throwing in the Vehari district of Punjab province, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The victim, a school teacher, was attacked by an accused who was arrested red-handed by the people.
She was identified as Sabira and was employed as a teacher at a private school.
The victim was admitted to the hospital where her condition was stated to be critical.
She received 50 percent burn injuries. Her face including her both eyes was damaged badly.
According to reports, Sabira was going to work when a suspect identified as Mithu intercepted her. He suddenly attacked Sabira by emptying a canister of acid on her before fleeing from the scene.
Two innocent children also suffered from the acid attack while passing through the street.
The accused Mithu, a resident of WB 9-11 wanted to marry her.
The accused is the younger brother of the affected teacher’s brother-in-law and he threw acid on the Sabira for refusing the marriage.
The accused Mithu was caught by the citizens on the spot and handed over to the police after thrashing him badly.
Daniwal police station registered a case against her and started an investigation.
