Water tanker crushes two children to death in Karachi

Two children were crushed to death and two other people injured when a speedy water tanker hit their motorcycle near Model Colony in Karachi, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

The dead children identified as Talha who was 10 years old while Mohammad Shah was nine years old and the injured kid namely Babar was 8 years old. All these children were brothers and another person who was 25 years old was recognized as Ibrahim.

All the above-mentioned persons were riding a motorcycle with their cousin Ibrahim.

Residents of the area told media men that around 10.30 pm all the three children along with their cousin were returning home after seeing off their uncle at the Karachi Airport. On their way back home, a speedy water tanker hit their motorcycle resulting in their instant death of both the kids.

Residents further said that despite passage of several hours dead bodies of children were lying in the hospital while police failed to show up at the hospital.

They further questioned that how heavy vehicles are plying on the roads before 11 pm and who is responsible for their entry?

They said that tanker mafia was destroying Karachi and a person being died on daily basis due to these tankers.

After receiving the information, a police team reached the crime scene and impounded the water tanker and shifted it to local police station. Police will also record the statement of the injured persons.

Further investigation was underway.
