Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has stated that general elections will be held on time in October of this year.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, he addressed a ceremony in Narowal on Sunday and said federal and provincial elections should be held concurrently.

He stated that the country is in the midst of a constitutional and political crisis. Ahsan Iqbal said there will be problems with early elections in Punjab, which will undermine the federation.

The federal minister said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has become a symbol of chaos and has led the country to catastrophe.

Ahsan Iqbal said the federation will be weakened if the Punjab polls will be held before the National Assembly and other provincial elections.
