FPSC chairman-designate continues to suffer from poor health

Senior bureaucrat Maroof Afzal, who was named chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) on November 13, continues to suffer from poor health.
Currently, he is under treatment at the Military Hospital in Rawalpindi. Sources say his health is improving, but he has yet to take the oath of his new office.
Maroof is a retired civil servant who served in BPS-22 as the Cabinet Secretary of Pakistan under Prime Minister Imran Khan and as Establishment Secretary under Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. He belongs to the Pakistan Administrative Service.
