Guards, students pelt each other with stones at Bannu university

Security guards and students at the University of Science and Technology, Bannu pelted each other with stones during a protest on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The security guards resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesting students which prompted a stampede, leaving two students injured.

The enraged students damaged the university property in response. They also closed all the public educational institutions in protest. All the nearby commercial centers were already closed due to a strike.

Upon being informed, large police contingents reached the university to control the situation.
