NAB inquiry gives clean chit to PPP MNA Bakhsh Mehar

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has given clean chit to PPP MNA Muhammad Bakhsh Mehar regarding an inquiry into abuse of power and assets beyond means, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
A NAB prosecutor told Sindh High Court that an inquiry by the Bureau against Muhammad Bakhsh Mehar did not find any evidence. The court then sought a formal reply from the NAB.
The NAB prosecutor further said that the findings of the inquiry had now been referred to the NAB chairman. The prosecutor asked the court to grant time until the NAB chairman okayed the inquiry result.
The court then extended the interim bail against Muhammad Bakhsh Mehar until March 11.
The NAB had launched an inquiry against the PPP MNA in October 2019 on the charges of corruption and misuse of power during the previous tenure of the PPP. The NAB had sought a record of Mehar’s farmland comprising of 2,030 acres from the Ghotki deputy commissioner.
