In an interview with Amna Haider Isani, the Kana Yari-fame Balochi folk singer Wahab Bugti expressed his feelings for his village for the very first time by calling his native place “Watan.”
On a question regarding his views about his village, he answered that ‘he loves his village’ and he does not want to move anywhere else.
He said that Karachi has given him a recognition and fame but his home Dera Murad Jamali can never be replaced as there is complete safety for his children over there.
While sharing the details of his life, he told Amna that he got married at a young age of 14 and now he has eight kids. “To be married in a young age is a tradition in my village and I followed the same,” he added.
To another query about the political situation in Balochistan, he replied that all the development projects were done in the past, and nothing new happened in his 40 years of age. However, he only prayed to Allah for the betterment of his place.

Pertinent to note that the Balochi singer was badly affected during devastating floods as his home was submerged in floods. But now he has come back again and performing on different platforms. He is representing the positive picture of his village. It should be appreciated that a person who belongs to the remote area is getting the recognition for his talent.
