Deaths 23 as girl pulled out alive from under snow dies on way to hospital

With the death of a girl on Sunday, the number of people dying from extreme cold en route to the popular hill resort of Murree has now reached 23, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The 24News TV channel has managed to get hold of a video of the latest fatality, which occurred when the locals, who were searching for the survivors buried under several feet of snow, succeeded in pulling out a girl alive at the Guldana Hatian area of the hill station.
However, as they were shifting the girl to the hospital, she died on the way.
A day ago, on Saturday (January 8, 2022), 24News had reported that at least 22 tourists, including women and children, shivered to death as Army, Frontier Corps and Rangers were called in to rescue thousands of tourists stranded in the frosty cold of Murree and Galyat after the authorities imposed an emergency in the hill station declaring it a calamity-hit area.
The deceased belonged to Lahore, Gujranwala, Islamabad and Mardan, and also included eight members of the same family.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed had said his ministry had reports of the deaths of 19 people inside their vehicles buried under the deep snow.
He had also expressed the fear that the death toll might rise.
