River Chenab in low flood at Khanki after recent rains

Following recent heavy rains in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) and north-eastern parts of Punjab, the water level in River Chenab has started rising and the river is in a low flood at Khanki Barrage, in Wazirabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The water inflow at Khanki has been recorded at 130575 cusecs while the discharge at 116629 cusecs of water.    

The Irrigation Department has expressed the fear that the water level may rise further in the event of more rains in the hilly areas situated to the northeast of the river.
