Responding to media reports on reported ‘fissure’ within the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), the party head Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday regretted that in Pakistan ‘non-issues were made to look like issues’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry who inquired after him at his residence in Islamabad, he asked whether somebody had ever heard him speak against his cousin and Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. “And neither has he (Pervaiz) ever uttered a word against me,” he said.

Shujaat further said that he would continue to offer his advice to Barrister Sultan on the Kashmir issue.
Expressing surprise over the politics of videos in the country, he said nobody in the world cared about their contents.
PML-Q chief said the state of Pakistan wanted such a solution to the Kashmir issue, which should be acceptable to all. “Please talk about humanity because humanity is always on the top,” he said, adding that his and the AJK president’s narrative on Kashmir was the same.
He was of the view that there was an opinion in Pakistan that the country was weak. “Truth of the matter is that we are not weak,” Shujaat emphasized.
The veteran politician also stressed the need for free and fair by-elections due to be held on 20 Punjab Assembly seats on July17, 2022. “No matter, whichever party wins; its mandate should be accepted by all,” he asserted.
He said he was in the favour of political differences between politicians. “Truth of the matter is that ‘the difference of opinion’ is a beauty of democracy,” he said, and adding in the same breath, "However, these differences should not turn into animosity.”
Speaking on the occasion, AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry said that Chaudhry Shujaat was a visionary person. “I seek his guidance on the issues concerning the AJK,” he said.
He went on to say that whenever there was a crisis in Pakistan, Chaudhry sab found a way out. “The sacrifices given by him and his father for the Kashmir issue are numerous,” the AJK president said.
