The Mumbai police have filed a charge-sheet against Lawrence Bishnoi and eight members of his gang in connection with the firing at the Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house in Bandra on April 14.

According to media reports, the crime branch officers said they have submitted over 1700-page chargesheet against six arrested accused, Sagar Pal, Vicky Gupta, Sonu Kumar Bishnoi, Harpal Singh alias Harry, Mohammad Rafiq Chaudhary and Anuj Thapan, under the provisions of Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

Thapan was allegedly died by suicide in the crime branch lockup. Statements of dozens of witnesses were recorded.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol Bishnoi and key gang member Rohit Godhara were shown as ‘wanted accused’ in the case, said a crime branch official.

The police also recorded the statements of actor Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz on June 4 to corroborate the sequence of events and their statements have been included in the chargesheet.

On the morning of April 14, four rounds were fired outside the actor’s Bandra residence. Crime branch later arrested six people from different states.

According to the probe, the attack was carried out at the behest of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who had threatened actor Salman Khan in the past.
