Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that loadshedding in this excessive heat spoke in volumes of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government’s incompetence given the fact there was electricity in surplus in the system, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reacting to reports of power outages in different parts of the country due to intense heat, he said in a tweet: “People are in pain due to intense heat and children are even losing consciousness because of that. The situation is condemnable and distressing.”
Urging the government to feel the gravity of the situation, he advised it to stop indulging in the blame game and start delivering on its rhetoric.

“When we had left in 2018 there was electricity in surplus in the system and zero loadshedding. If you do not have the capacity to work, you better go home,” Shehbaz said, and added, “If Prime Minister Imran Khan thinks it is beyond his control, a parliamentary committee be formed so that people could be provided some relief.”
PML-N president said already prices of essential items had skyrocketed and people had become jobless. “And now you have even deprived them of electricity,” he regretted.
“This is Imran Khan Niazi’s ‘New Pakistan’. We had built a shining Pakistan by generating 14, 000 of additional electricity,” Shehbaz claimed.
He said the only thing this government was good at was to shift the onus of its failures and ‘incompetence’ on previous governments’ shoulders.
“First there was a horrific train crash. And now power breakdowns during a heatwave; what do these leaders think that even now they could befool masses?” Shehbaz asked.
