During an informal talk in the courtroom, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said Thursday that Shah Mehmood Qureshi had come with a formula for the release of the PTI workers from jails, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“The pound equals four hundred rupees. How will I survive if I go abroad? Their properties and billions of dollars lie abroad. I have nothing out of the country,” he said to a question about leaving Pakistan.
“Brutality is being committed to women and children. This issue will be raised at international forums,” he said.
“Every civilised society has a transparent system for investigation. We have evidence that who was behind all the incidents [of May 9]. Action should be taken against those involved in the violent incidents on May 9,” he added.
“Those who protested peacefully are being arrested. There has never been a minus in democracy to date. In a democracy, it is the public that minuses someone,” he stated.
The PTI chairman rejected any bitterness with Shah Mehmood Qureshi. “Who said there is bitterness?”
To a question about meeting with Shah Mehmood Qureshi, he said: “What would a meeting with Shah Mehmood Qureshi be like? He had been in jail for a month. Our people’s houses are being destructed, and they are being arrested.”
The PTI chairman smiled at the question about the party leaders leaving the PTI and joining the new party. “I say good luck to the politicians who left PTI and joined the new party.”
He added that peaceful protest was a constitutional right, emphasising that transparent elections were the solution to the problems.
