Imran Khan files petition against ECP for contempt of court in LHC

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan Thursday filed a contempt of court petition against the warrant issued by the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
It was stated in the petition that an application against ECP for contempt of court is already being heard in the High Court. ECP issued bail-able arrest warrants on the 3rd of January which were suspended by LHC on the 16th of January. The issuance of warrants even after suspension by the High Court counts as contempt of court. The application demanded that the petition against ECP for contempt of court by be approved for hearing.
The petition was filed in the Rawalpindi bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) and Election Commission members Nisar Durrani, Shah Muhammad Jatoi, Babar Bharwana and Ikramullah Khan were made parties in the petition. It was also demanded that legal action be taken against the mention parties.
