The Punjab government has extended the leave of Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal for one more month for the third time, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The notification in this regard was issued on Sunday.
According to the notification, the additional charge of the CS already assigned to Abdullah Khan Sumbal has also been extended by one month.
On Oct 2, the Punjab government had given another 7-day leave to Chief Secretary Afzal after he refused to take the charge of his duty.
The Punjab government had earlier sent the CS Afzal on leave after the regime developed differences with him on some matters regarding postings and transfers.
The chief secretary has requested the federal government to transfer him out of Punjab as he is not comfortable working with the current Punjab rulers.
Sources informed that the federal government asked Afzal to rejoin as it wanted to keep a check on PTI’s plan of holding long march on Islamabad.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government has suggested three names to the federal government for the top administrative slot. But the federal government did not consider them and has interviewed some other bureaucrats. However, it has not finalized any candidate so far.
