A special flight, carrying 71 Pakistanis from Lebanon and Syria, landed at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport in the early hours of Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Sindh Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo welcomed them on arrival.

The Pakistanis praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for ensuring their return.

They also appreciated the arrangements made for their reception at the airport.

The flight touched down at the airport’s runway number 25 L at 3:00 AM, and was late by an hour.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, the federal minister said that the entire Middle East was in a state of war.

He said that bringing back Pakistanis stranded in Lebanon was a tough task. “Firstly, it is difficult to reach out to them in the war-torn country. Still, the government of Pakistan will fulfill its obligation to ensure their return to their homeland,” Siddiqui assured.

Governor Tessori said that the government stood by Pakistanis living in Lebanon in these testing times. “The government has completed arrangements for the return of those Pakistanis who have been left behind,” he informed.
