Sindh Education Department has shifted a 40-year-old girls’ secondary school campus to several kilometres away, raising concerns among the students and the parents, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

The director of schools ordered the shifting of the only girls' school of Khudadad Colony to Muslimabad Colony’s Christ the King School which is located in a deserted area.

The decision has created fear among the students and the parents. The students claim that their parents would not allow them to go to a remote area.

Likewise, parents questioned how could they send their daughters to a deserted area. They condemned the decision and described it as a counter-productive step.

Khudadad Colony girls' school building has also boys shift in the morning and the education department wanted to shift the girls' section instead of boys. In the past, Sindh Education had announced the same plan but scrapped it on public reaction.

According to the inside story, the Department for Education has lost its case to Christ the King School trustees over zero enrollment while 14 teachers posted there have been drawing their salaries.

After the airing of the concerns of girls students and their parents at 21News, the Sindh Education Minister has taken notice of the news and suspended the decision of the transfering the girls school.

Minister Sardar Shah ordered that the inquiry of the issue should be completed within a week. He ensured the families and the students that their concerns will be taken into consideration.
