BISEs given deadline to prepare matric result

The Higher Education Department (HED) on Monday gave deadline to all the examination boards of Punjab to prepare result of Class 10 (Matriculation Annual Examinations 2020) until September 5.

Most of the boards have compiled 70pc result of Class 10. The HED said that matric result would be announced across the province on same day. The department said that practical numbers would be awarded as per the set criterion. 

The boards have been directed to ensure implementation of SOPs and transparency in the paper checking process. As per the federal government’s decision, board exams were cancelled across the country and students were promoted to next grades without exams following the Covid-19 pandemic. 

However, in Punjab, Class 10 exams were already conducted so the province was allowed to prepare the results and decide promotion of Class 10 students on the basis of exam results.
