The resolution, submitted by PML-N MPA Hina Pervaiz Butt, read that the House condemned the treatment 24News reporter Farzana Siddique and the cameraman received at the hands of PTI workers at Banigala where they had gone to cover a press conference by some of the party leaders.
It was further stated in the resolution the incident became more condemnable given that this happened outside the residence of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and right in front of the party leaders who had gathered there for the presser.
PML-N demands change in venue of PTI’s rally
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly (PA) against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) public gathering to be held in Lahore’s hockey stadium on August 13, 2022, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The resolution, submitted by party MPA Saadia Taimur, read that the stadium was meant for the sport only and political activities could not be allowed there. “Never ever in the history of the stadium has any political party held a public gathering there,” the resolution said.
It was further stated in the resolution that any political activity in the stadium could damage the turf laid there for playing hockey. “And if the Punjab government allows the PTI to go ahead with its power show in the stadium, other political parties, too, will hold their events there,” read the resolution.
“Therefore, it would be appropriate if the party is given any other place for the purpose,” it concluded.
