To counter the fund awarding spree initiated by the Punjab government, the federal government too has released funds for its members of National Assembly for the development of their respective constituencies in Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The federal government has released Rs37 billion funds for its MNAs belonging to Punjab.
A package of Rs5.83 billion has been released for the MNAs of Lahore alone.
Rs500 million funds released for MNA Muhammad Riaz’s constituency; Rs500 million funds for the constituency of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi; Rs450 million for Waheed Alam Khan’s constituency;Rs500 million for Ali Pervaiz Malik’s constituency; Rs500 million for Sheikh Rohail’s constituency; Rs500 million for Ayaz Sadiq’s constituency; Rs460 million funds for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s constituency; Rs500 million for Shaista Malik’s constituency; Rs460 million for Rana Mubashar Iqbal’s constituency; and Rs500 million funds have been released for Muhammad Afzal’s constituency.
The development funds have also been released for the MNAs of PML-N and other allied parties belonging to other districts.
The federal government has released these funds for the housing and works projects.
