Jamaat-e-Islami emir Siraj ul Haq on Saturday said Dr. Aafia Siddiqui remains in American custody and no significant efforts have been made despite the passage of time by the successive rulers to secure her release, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a women's convention at Bahawalpur, he vowed that if his party was elected, the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui would be the top priority.
“The dire conditions Dr Aafia faces, including broken teeth and partial hearing loss due to violence, he hinted.
The JI emir emphasized a broader mission, striving for the establishment of an Islamic system in Pakistan for the sake of Allah.
He said at least 21 thousand Muslims have lost their lives during the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
The speaker shared efforts made by engaging with Muslim rulers in Iran and Turkey, urging them to become modern-day Salahuddin Ayubi figures.
Siraj said that he met with Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas.
He also highlighted the dire state of water quality in Pakistan, where one in every five people is compelled to consume contaminated water.
“The previous governments are the root cause of unrest, poverty and inflation in the country,” he asserted.
