Harmony in China: A Journalistic Overture with the Exchange Program - My heart stolen by both the Country and its People 

In the embrace of China's diverse landscapes, my soul underwent a profound transformation during a transformative four-month journey through the heart of this magnificent nation. This introspective expedition was made possible through my participation in the China Public Diplomacy Association and China Press Communication Center Journalism Exchange Program, orchestrated under the guiding light of the China Public Diplomacy Association and the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC). Beyond a mere voyage, this initiative unfolded as a poetic odyssey, weaving moments of discovery from the initial warm greetings to the poignant farewells that lingered in the air.

Our journalistic odyssey unfolded its pages from August to November, traversing the rich tapestry of Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Tibet, Shanghai, and Yunnan Province. Each stop became a chapter, revealing stories as diverse as the regions themselves. These encounters enriched not just my understanding of China but also fueled a fervour to share these firsthand experiences with audiences back home.

Beyond the quest for development, my purpose in China extended to observing the Chinese people's interactions with foreigners. From the bustling streets of Beijing to the serene landscapes of Yunnan, the remarkable kindness and hospitality of the Chinese people left an indelible mark on my heart. A warmth and welcome, coupled with a humble demeanour, defined my interactions with locals. Despite language barriers, the prevalence of English proficiency, even among the youngest, transformed communication into a delightful exchange. The endearing term "Batia," referring to Pakistanis as iron brothers, echoed the warmth of our newfound connections.

The Journalism Exchange Program unfolded like a captivating symphony, blending insightful lectures on China's socio-economic development, cultural heritage, and technological advancements with immersive journalism training and internships. This experience not only broadened our knowledge but also deepened our appreciation for the artistry of journalism itself.

In a global collaboration involving 81 journalists from 61 countries, representing diverse regions such as Asia Pacific, Africa, Arabia, Russia, and Latin America, the program's diversity mirrored the richness of our experiences.

My sincere gratitude extends to MFA China and the CIPCC for opening doors to significant events like the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai. These experiences broadened our perspectives on China's global initiatives and showcased the depth of international collaboration.

Acknowledging the meticulous arrangements at the Diplomatic Residence Compound, the seamless transport, and the provision of halal cuisine for Muslim participants during our journey, I commend the CIPCC for ensuring not only our comfort but also an environment conducive to genuine cultural exchange.

A heartfelt appreciation resonates for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the entire CIPCC team, with special mentions for Mr. Jerry and Mr. Yu Lie, the esteemed Director. And Best Tian, from the first hello to the last goodbye, have left indelible marks on my heart. Best Tian, now my younger sister, and I, her iron brother in Pakistan, will carry the echoes of her warmth and charm dearly.

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming love received from the people of China, I find myself profoundly indebted. I pledge to convey this love faithfully through my pen, recognizing that China has indeed stolen my heart.

As the curtains draw on this chapter of our program, it isn't an end but the opening of a new and heartfelt chapter. The shared experiences become the foundation for future collaborations, and to our CIPCC friends, our commitment remains unwavering as a steadfast support whenever the need arises.

Departing China, I carry cherished memories, each imbued with profound emotions. The unparalleled love received here has transformed this country into a second home. Arriving with teary eyes, I depart with a heart overflowing with gratitude and affection for a nation that has become an inseparable part of my personal and journalistic journey.
