Village bigwigs torch girl’s rice crop to punish her for getting education in Larkana

Getting an education became a crime for a 10^th class student in a suburban village of tehsil Rato Dero, in Larkana where influential persons torched her ready rice crop sown over three acres of land, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Father of Zainab Zangejo alleged that his daughter was a student at a school in Rato Dero, which was seven kilometers from their home. “But some influential persons who were opposed to her seeking education first told me to ask my daughter to stop studying. But when she did not stop, they burnt the rice crop in order to teach us a lesson,” he alleged.
