Lesco to lay underground transmission line to preserve Shalimar Gardens

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has decided to lay underground transmission line to preserve historic Shalimar Gardens.
Lesco is awaiting an NoC to work on laying 32 KV transmission line through greenbelt in front of the Shalimar Gardens.
According to sources, the government will bear the cost of 500-metre line that will be connected to Singh Pura Sabzi Mandi Grid Station.
The Lahore Development Authority will fund Rs300 million on the request of Lesco.
Spadework for connecting Shalimar Grid Station to the transmission line has already been completed.
