MPA Khurrum Sohail Khan Laghari has decided to quit the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI).
The lawmaker from southern Punjab has long been unhappy because of, what he said, dictatorship in the party and breaking the promise of 20 million jobs for youth. The senior party leaders time and again tried to woo him but to no avail.
The leadership has forgotten the youth’s contribution to taking the party to power, he said, adding that he joined the PTI as it promised across-the-board development. He said he is answerable to the voters who have been questioning about 10 million jobs as promised by the leadership.
Political pundits dubbed the development a blow to the ruling party ahead of the Senate election. The report comes at a time when alleged involvement of PTI lawmakers in horse-trading for the last Senate election has made headlines.
