Security is top priority, Shehbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting on law and order, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

Addressing the participants in the meeting, the safety of the citizens is the primary responsibility of the government and there is no room for negligence.

Any kind of security lapse will not be tolerated, he said and directed the federal interior minister Rana Sanaullah to pay visit to all four provinces to protect the people.

He directed: “Centre-province coordination should be improved. Effective measures be taken to improve the efficiency of counter-terrorism departments in all provinces."

The law enforcement agencies should be equipped with modern weapons and equipment, the PM stressed adding that the decisions taken in the Apex Committee should be fully implemented.

The meeting was briefed about the steps the government made to maintain law and order. Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Special Assistants to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, Jahan Zeib Khan, chief secretaries, and chief commissioners were among the participants in the meeting.
