In the video, the 68-year-old can be seen enjoying the soulful song Saathi Rey, adding her signature touch of lighthearted charm.
The comment section was flooded with ageist remarks, with netizens shaming Ansari.
However, many fans and colleagues, including her colleague Ali Safina, came to her defence, urging her to ignore the negativity.
In a follow-up post addressing the backlash, Ansari expressed her disappointment over how a harmless video was turned into a headline-worthy controversy.
She called out the hypocrisy and negativity surrounding online trolling, particularly towards women in the entertainment industry.
