DRAP issues recall alert for Paracet Injection

The Central Drug Laboratory (CDL) Karachi has declared one batch of “Paracet Injection” manufactured. Standphann Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd as substandard and adulterated and directed the company asked to withdraw the injection from the market immediately, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Through a notification issued on Jan 3, CDL Karachi of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) issued a warning to the stakeholders to avoid the use of Paracet Injection of 100ml, batch no CJ170.
Addressing all the pharmacists and chemists at distribution, pharmacies, medical stores, doctors, medics, and the general public, the authority said that black particles in the injection can be seen by the naked eye.
According to the CDL, the manufacturer of the injection is M/s. Standphann Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., Lahore. The injection was manufactured on Nov 20, 2022, and will be expired on Nov 20, 2024.
The CDL said that the company has been asked to withdraw the injection from the market immediately.
If there are any problems with the injection, consult a doctor, it advises.
Pertinent to mention, Paracet Injection composed of Paracetamol, classified as a mild analgesic, is used to treat fever and is the most commonly used pain reliever. It is used to relieve pain in case of a backache, a headache, arthritis or toothache.
