Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi suspended the Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS) of District Headquarters (DHQ) Teaching Hospital Gujranwala for his failure to provide facilities to patients, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
It was exposed that the patients in the hospital were catered for the worst possible facilities. Air Conditioners were not working and the patients were suffering even more due to the humidity. The staff was very openly asking for bribes for entrance in the hospital and availability of wheelchairs. The sanitary and cleaning arrangements in the hospital were as awful as the management.
The patients and their attendants complained to CM about the extreme situation of the hospital and Mohsin Naqvi was enraged over the maladministration. He immediately terminated the DMS and said that such behaviour with the patients is not all tolerable in any situation.
Mohsin Naqvi said that he is deeply grieved seeing the situation of the hospital and the already suffering patients admitted in it and we are working for the provision of better health facilities to the general public.
