The National Coordination Committee (NCC) has issued directives to defer scheduled and unscheduled exams across the country in the wake of surge in coronavirus tally.

The centre has informed the provinces through letter. Some schools and seminaries have made a request for holding exams in June and July with assurance of following SOPs to stem the spread of coronavirus.

However, the education secretary said time is ‘not ripe for exams’. The federal government has written letter to the federating units for ensuring implementation of decision.

Under the new policy to adopt protective measures last month, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) promoted students on the basis of their previous year’s results.
