Over 200000 parents refused vaccination during recent polio vaccination campaign

A total of 215119 parents refused polio vaccination during the sub-national polio campaign held from April 29 to May 6 this year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

As per details, 215119 cases of refusal from the polio vaccine were reported, of which 154736 parents were convinced to provide polio vaccine to their children.

According to the Ministry of National Health 136707 parents in Sindh province, 56252 parents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1502 parents in Punjab, 19654 parents in Balochistan, and 1004 parents in Islamabad had refused polio vaccination.

Moreover, a total of 60,387 parents remained refused to provide polio vaccine to their children.

As many as 36808 parents in Sindh, 18 837 parents in KP, 4485 parents in Balochistan, 189 parents in Punjab including 68 parents in Islamabad, 34890 parents in Karachi, and 1642 parents in Hyderabad have been reported who refused the vaccine.
