Significant progress has been made regarding the installation of e-gates at three major airports in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Sunday.

A team of French experts recently conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad airports.

The Aviation Division and Civil Aviation Authority briefed the foreign experts on the e-gate project, which is being closely monitored by the Secretary of Aviation.

The project aims to install e-gates at Islamabad International Airport, Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, and Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

The e-gate system, to be operated by FIA Immigration, will offer passengers a streamlined immigration process by allowing them to scan their passports through the e-gates.

This modern technology will enhance global travel convenience and security by identifying individuals on stop lists, Exit Control List (ECL), and those involved in other crimes.

The Secretary of Aviation is overseeing the completion of the e-gate project, which promises to provide significant benefits to passengers and improve airport security measures.
