Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday stressed the need for looking after those people of the society who were so poor that they could not even afford meals two times a day, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking at the launch of ‘Koi Bhoka Nahi Soye Ga’ program in Islamabad, he said there was a need for identifying the areas where there was more poverty so that food could be provided to the people in these areas under this program through mobile trucks.
He added that shelter homes and this project were steps towards making Pakistan a welfare state. “Shelter homes are nothing less than a blessing for labourers and daily wagers,” he opined.
He said such projects would be initiated in all the poverty-stricken areas of the country. “Our people are generous and large-hearted. And I am sure that they would contribute to these projects,” he hoped.
PM Imran was of the view that the increase in inflation had been registered in the entire world on account of the coronavirus.
He said PTI governments in KP, Punjab and GB would hand over health cards to the people of these provinces. “It was my dream,” PM Imran said, and added, “In June, we will start offering a direct subsidy to three crore families. And we intend to start a similar program for the farmers as well.”
Towards the end, he paid tributes to all whose endeavours made the launch of this venture possible.
