Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Azam Swati and Salar Kakar have left political and core committees, sources said on Thursday.
The insiders said the duo did not want to be part of the core and the political committees of the PTI.
Azam Swati has shown reservations about these bodies, the sources said, adding that Salar Kakar left the Whatsapp group of THE core committee and political committees.
The development comes a day after outspoken Sher Afzal Marwat born the brunt of passing remarks against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership.
According to the sources, Marwat was ousted from the core and political committees yesterday. They said he was removed from the WhatsApp group. PTI founder Imran Khan Sher was too unhappy with him, the insiders said.
Marwat felt hard done-by over the Public Accounts Committee chairmanship nomination. He was unhappy with the party leaders over the removal of his brother from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet.
Talking to the media yesterday, he said his ‘agenda’ was over and according to him, the PTI was a ‘dead horse’ when he joined it. He said he revived the party when the other leaders went into hiding.
“My agenda was to secure the release of Imran Khan,” he said, adding that he did not want to contest the general election but did so on the instruction of Imran Khan.
He said he was unwilling to work with other leaders of the PTI. “I am leaving and will make a comeback if Imran Khan calls me,” he said.
