Lashing out at former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, senior PPP leader Khurshid Ahmad Shah said on Friday what else he had done for the country except building motorways, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He reminded the PML-N that ports, and not motorways, are built to promote trade. “No matter whether the person is from Larkana or Lahore; the only way to stop him from becoming the prime minister is through ballot, and not bullet,” he asserted.
He was of the view that by not going to jail after returning from London, Nawaz had lost his respect, and not earned it.
Khurshid said it was extremely unfortunate that there was no implementation on the agreement signed between Pakistan and Iran on the gas pipeline project in 2008 when the PPP was in power.
He further said that power plants, which were set up under the PML-N governments, had caused a loss of billions of rupees to the national exchequer. “On the other hand, we in Sindh are generating 2, 600 megawatts of electricity through Thar Coal,” he added.
Khurshid said that Bashir Memon, who had joined the PML-N recently, was a newcomer in politics, and he would take time to learn.
PPP leader also strongly objected to the PML-N supremo chairing a meeting at Governor’s House.
He prayed to the Almighty Allah that general elections were held in the country so that democracy could be restored.
