Gold prices soar in Pakistan

The Multan jewellers market witnessed a sharp rise in the price of gold at the start of the new week on Monday, reported 24News HD TV Channel.
According to the market sources, the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs14,000 per tola and reached Rs2,04,000.
Similarly, the price of 22-karat gold went up by Rs13,000 per tola and reached Rs1,87,000.
The market sources said that the price of 24 karat gold per gram was Rs17,400 and the price of 22 karat gold per gram was Rs16,000.
On the other hand, Sarafa Bazaar Association Pakistan held an emergency meeting in Karachi on Monday, with the participation of Bullion representatives and Haji Haroon Chand, a prominent gold dealer.
The association said in a statement that the gold prices in Sarafa Bazaar have risen sharply due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
While Haji Haroon Chand expressed hope that in coordination with Interbank, a major development about the future of the prices of gold will be announced on Tuesday.
The price of gold per tola in the local market has reached Rs195,500, up from Rs188,000 last week.
