The Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore Monday adjourned the bail hearing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Lahore President and MPA Imtiaz Mehmood Sheikh till September 11, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
The hearing was postponed due to the investigating officer's absence, who is reportedly recovering from a heart attack.
Judge Arshad Javed presided over the hearing, during which Sheikh’s lawyers completed their arguments. The court has summoned the investigating officer, along with the case records, for the next hearing.
Sheikh Imtiaz has filed bail applications in two cases: the murder case of Ali Bilal alias Zile Shah and a police torture case related to the arrest of the PTI founder.
Both cases are registered at the Race Course police station. Sheikh Imtiaz is currently in jail under judicial remand after previously being held on physical remand.
The murder case involves the death of Ali Bilal and injuries to several others during a confrontation of police with over 300 PTI workers on Canal Road
