The Supreme Court on Wednesday disposed of the case of the appointment of National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) chairperson after it was informed that Nilofar Bakhtiar has been given the post, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the case.
During the hearing when CJP Gulzar Ahmed inquired whether the government had appointed anybody as commission chairperson, Additional Attorney General (AAG) Aamir Rehman replied in affirmative. “Nilofar Bakhtiar has been appointed as AAG by Prime Minister Imran Khan for a period of three years,” he told the apex court.
The CJP remarked that when the appointment had already been made, the case had lost its importance.
